The deadline to apply for grants for cultural and arts organizations from the city is Nov. 1.
The City and County of Honolulu has two grant programs for organizations with new projects or cultural preservation art projects.
There are Level I grants of up to $5,000 to help organizations develop new work in dance, theatre, music, short film and literature.
Level II grants give continued support for on-going projects that have received MOCA grant awards between Fiscal Year 2008 and 2013 (July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2014).
The grants will be awarded to organizations located in the City and County of Honolulu for projects benefiting the people of Oahu.
The deadline for proposals for both grants is Friday, November 1, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.
To be eligible for a grant, applicants must be tax exempt, publicly supported, and a charitable organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Organizations may apply for either or both grants, however, will only be awarded one grant.
Guidelines and applications are available through MOCA, Mission Memorial Building, 550 South King Street, 2nd Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 and at http://www1.honolulu.gov/moca/news.htm.
