Call it perfection, call it studying hard. Whatever the case, a Roosevelt High School senior is the only student in Hawaii to score a perfect 36 on the ACT test this past school year.
Gillian M. Desmond holds a 4.4 grade point average, scored the highest possible score of 5 on each of the three Advanced Placement exams in Chemistry, Statistics, and English. Gillian is a member of the Roosevelt High School Marching and Symphonic Band. She previously attended Nuuanu Elementary and Kawananakoa Middle School.
She is deciding whether to study math or science at either Stanford, USC, Caltech, or UH Manoa.
More than a million students nationwide take the college readiness test each year, with only one-tenth of 1 percent earning a perfect score.
