Kauai’s historic Coco Palms Resort is getting a new owner.
Tyler Greene from Bridge Real Estate says the group Coco Palms Hui LLC is under contract to buy the resort, which was made famous as the setting for Elvis Presley’s film, “Blue Hawaii.”
The hotel has been sitting vacant since 1992 when it was damaged by Hurricane Iniki.
The group’s plan is to restore the hotel to its original state.
They hope to start construction by 2014.
