Waipahu Advances to Final Day in the American Legion World Series

The “Cardiac Kids” of Waipahu continued earning their teams moniker today, in the American Legion World Series by out lasting Louisiana.   The 19-and-under squad had to go 12 innings before Mid-Pacific Institute’s Brent Sakurai forced a 2-out throwing error, scoring Pearl City’s Tanner Tokunaga all the way from second.  That one run proved to be enough to end the game with a final of 5-4 and propelled the team into tomorrows championship round where they will have to win two games in order to take the title.
