A family visiting the islands had their rental car broken into Saturday and is pleading to get one irreplaceable item back.
The tourists were taking family photos near Makai Pier in Waimanalo, when a thief or thieves broke into their car stealing a wallet, jewelry, and their son’s prescription contacts.
The 11-year-old boy depends on them to do many outdoor activities, including snorkeling, one of his favorite things to do in Hawaii.
“The rest its unfortunate I hate to lose it, but like I said, you can replace those things, the other things are difficult to enjoy Hawaii without,” Virginia resident Tyge Gibson said.
The contacts can be returned to the Hyatt Regency hotel or any police station.
They are hoping to be able to enjoy their last few days here on the islands.
