Coast Guard officials say the owner of the dog they rescued Saturday in Honolulu Harbor claimed him Sunday.

They say the owner was thankful and says the dog, Blue, is blind.

The owner who works at a fish research facility next to the Coast Guard station off Sand Island did not say how the dog went missing.

Saturday, Coast Guard officials say they rescued the dog after he was seen struggling to swim by a tug boat crew.

They say the harbormaster relayed the information to the Coast Guard who then launched their response boat.

Crews rescued the dog around 11:30 a.m. and transported him back to the station.
