Thousands of college students head back to class

Thousands of students headed back to class Monday.

University of Hawaii at Manoa, all UH community colleges, and Chaminade University students head back to class for their fall semester, along with private school students.

The Department of Transportation is advising drivers to get an extra early start for their morning commute, or even carpool, bike, walk, or ride the bus.

There is also new “GoAkamai” application for smartphones from the DOT. It gives traffic congestion information, drive times, and feeds from traffic cameras.
