Vacationing family replaces stolen prescription contacts for son

A family visiting the islands had their rental car broken into Saturday.

The tourists were taking family photos near Makai Pier in Waimanalo, when a thief or thieves broke into their car stealing a wallet, jewelry, and their son’s prescription contacts.

The 11-year-old boy depends on them to do many outdoor activities, including snorkeling, one of his favorite things to do in Hawaii.

After KHON2 aired the story on Sunday, the family has said they got a prescription sent for Evan and he snorkeled on Monday at Hanauma Bay.
