Second workforce housing tower could come to Kakaako

A second workforce housing tower could soon go up in Kakaako.

The Hawaii Community Development Authority accepted the application for the second tower of 801 South St.

If approved, it would add another 410 units including one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Prices would range from $360,000 to $692,000.

The first tower, which began construction Aug. 1, has 635 units. Together, the two towers would provide 1,045 condominium units for middle-income families.

The HCDA will schedule public hearings for the second building.
