International travel can be exhausting but Hawaii H.I.S. is doing what it can to make things a bit more comfortable.
This new visitor lounge, the first of its kind inside the security gate at Honolulu International Airport, opened Saturday.
Hawaii H.I.S. corporation brings more than a quarter million Japanese visitors to Hawaii each year.
Hawaii Tourism Authority spokesman David Uchiyama is encouraged by this latest development.
“They love it here. They connect with the culture. There’s more halaus in Japan than there are here. The cultural connection I think is very strong between us. To be able to come here and the comfort of a lounge like this, for these passengers is going to be really nice and you know with our weather, during this time of year, coming into an air-conditioned facility is going to be beautiful,”Uchiyama said.
The lounge is also available to outbound H.I.S. travelers as well.
