A fire damaged a Waipahu apartment Monday night.
The fire broke out just before 9:30 p.m. at a two-story apartment building on Kuhaulua Street.
Honolulu Fire Department officials say the blaze damaged one apartment and caused smoke and water damages to five other units.
The fire was under control by 10 p.m.
All three residents escaped without injury, as did several other people from adjacent units.
The American Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.
Damage to the apartment where the fire began and to the other units that sustained smoke and water damage is estimated at $400,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
