‘Bows Special Teams Coordinator Demarest suspended one game by MWC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Hawai‘i football special teams coordinator and safeties coach Chris Demarest has been issued a one-game suspension, in accordance with Mountain West Sportsmanship Rule 4.4.3, for his inappropriate actions on the sideline during the Hawai‘i at Oregon State game on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Demarest will be prohibited from coaching in the next Hawai‘i game which is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21 at Nevada.

The Mountain West will have no further comment regarding this case.  The provisions of the MW Sportsmanship Policy can be found in Rule 4 of the MW Handbook – which can be accessed via the www.TheMW.com Web site.

“Chris is a tremendous football coach who coaches with passion and energy. This is an extremely unfortunate situation and obviously we will abide with the penalty handed down by the Mountain West.”
