Mayor Kirk Caldwell will lead the ceremony at Tamarind Park at Bishop Square from 12:15 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Governor Neil Abercrombie, the Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu Fire Departrment, Emergency Medical Services department and the U.S. Navy color guard will also be in attendance.
This Sept. 11 will mark the twelfth anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon and the sacrifice of those aboard United Airlines Flight 93.
Mayor Caldwell will honor the lives lost in the 9/11 attacks.
The ceremony will also serve as a salute to Hawaii’s First Responders, including HPD, HFD and Emergency Medical Services.
