The state Department of Transportation will meet with a community task force Wednesday night to go over a plan to ease traffic in Laniakea on Oahu’s North Shore.
The DOT’s short-term solution is to block parking on the mauka side of Kamehameha Highway.
Laniakea has become a popular spot for visitors and locals to see green sea turtles.
The traffic and parking issue has become a problem.
The DOT believes putting barricades to limit parking across the beach will help ease the congestion.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Haleiwa Elementary School.
