Study shows cancer cases on Kauai not higher than rest of the state

Did decades of pesticide use on agriculture land put Kauai residents at a greater risk for cancer?

Kauai lawmakers asked the state Department of Health to find out.

On Thursday, the DOH released their findings.

Researchers say the did not find a higher rate of cancer on Kauai compared to the rest of the state, with the exception of skin cancer.

Breast, liver, and prostate cancer rates were actually lower compared to the rest of the state.
