No tsunami threat for Hawaii after 6.7-magnitude quake reported off New Zealand

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat for Hawaii after a 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Kermadec Islands near New Zealand.

Based on all available data, a destructive pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.

This will be the only statement issued for this event unless additional data are received.
