Commissaries used by service members and their families could be closing their doors within days.
The commissaries in Hawaii and across the nation will be open Tuesday, despite the partial government shutdown.
But after that, it all depends on how quickly they get rid of their perishable items.
Some people KHON2 spoke with said they are stocking up because of the situation.
“I had heard that will be starting a close down cycle tomorrow,” Foster Village resident Kristy McGinnis said.
The Navy Exchange won’t be affected by the partial government shutdown because they’re not run by appropriations.
So the NEX and the gas station will still be open.
