Board of Water Supply crews have rescheduled repair work following a 6-inch waterline break in Downtown Honolulu.
The break was reported to the BWS Sunday night. Crews worked overnight to excavate and initiate repairs.
During that time, Honolulu police closed two Ewa-bound lanes on Nimitz Highway near Alakea Street.
The lanes were reopened shortly after 7:30 a.m. Monday.
According to the BWS, the waterline feeds a hydrant on the highway between Alakea and Bishop Streets.
No customers were affected by the incident.
The BWS says final repairs to the broken waterline will be rescheduled during non-peak hours to minimize impact to the public.
