Job fair to be held Oct. 2 in Lihue

A job fair will be held at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall  from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

About 60 employers and organizations will be at 2013 Kauai Job Fair.

Job seekers should come prepared with resumes, be ready to do interviews, and wear attire that’s appropriate for the industry they are interested in.

There will be representatives from a number of major hotels including: Aston Hotels & Resorts; Grand Hyatt Kaua’i Resort and Spa; Kauai Beach Resort; Kauai Marriott Resort; Sheraton Kauai Resort; and The St. Regis Princeville Resort.

Healthcare businesses will also be on hand at the event: Bayada Home Health Care; Hawaii Behavioral Health; Hawaii Health Systems Corp.; and Hawaii Pacific Health.

In addition, several retailers will at the fair: Big Save/Times; Foodland; Macy’s; and Safeway.

Employment specialists and business students at Kauai Community College will be available to assist job seekers with filling out applications, writing resumes, and doing job interviews.

A mini-computer station will be set up to facilitate online job applications.

The Kauai Job Fair is sponsored by the County of Kauai in collaboration with the Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations; Workforce Development Division, Kauai branch; and the Kauai Workforce Investment Act Board.
