Maui police seek suspect in ATM card theft

The Maui Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of stealing a bank card.

Police say sometime between Sept. 5 and Sept. 6, an unknown person unlawfully entered a vehicle and stole a wallet containing $250 cash, a debit/credit card, and a Hawaii driver’s license.

According to police, on Sept. 8, an unknown person used the stolen bank card at the ATM of First Hawaiian Bank located on Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului to withdraw $500 from the victim’s bank account.

Anyone with information about the theft or identity of the suspect is asked to call Detective Delos Santos at (808) 244-6437.
