Two men accused of stealing goats from a Kahuku farm pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.

Shannon Chun and Sherwin Mitchell are each charged with livestock theft.

Nearly two dozen goats were stolen from Keal Pontin’s ranch a couple of weeks ago. Some of the goats left behind had their mouths duct taped shut, so they wouldn’t make any noise.

Pontin says the goats were never recovered.

Chun and Mitchell are scheduled to be tried in December.

Livestock theft is a Class C felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.
