Rep. Colleen Hanabusa is gearing up for election season.
Her campaign headquarters opened Monday on North Beretania Street near the corner of Mauna Kea Street.
She is running for the U.S. Senate.
She also received an endorsement on Monday.
“Colleen has experience. She has a heart. She comes from a place that’s really — maybe you understand the word — really the guts of Hawaii and with that she can really help the people of Hawaii,” former U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka said.
“It is because of their experience and they know what it takes to get things done. That’s the endorsement that I’m getting from them,” Hanabusa said.
Hanabusa will go up against Sen. Brian Schatz, whom Gov. Abercrombie picked to replace the late Sen. Daniel Inouye.
