Kilauea has been quite active lately.

The U.S. Geological Survey captured video this week of a lava lake within the Halemaumau Crater.

USGS geologists say the recent activity was caused by a build up of gas and volcanic activity.

They expect it to increase over the next few days.

The lava lake in the volcano has been erupting since 1983.
