Man arrested after stabbing in Kapahulu

An argument between three homeless men turn violent early Friday morning.

Kamal Afif, 36, was arrested for first-degree assault after Honolulu police say he stabbed two other men.

The incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. near the Waikiki-Kapahulu Public Library.

One of the victims was seriously injured. The other suffered minor injuries.

“He grabbed the back of my neck and stabbed me with a knife. And that’s when Joe helped me, and I didn’t see the knife, but apparently he got stabbed also. And now he’s in the hospital,” said Charlie, knife attack victim.

Charlie was treated and released from the hospital.

Afif remains in custody awaiting charges.
