It was a nightmare for commuters in East Oahu.
Honolulu police closed a portion of Keahole Street in Hawaii Kai for a couple of hours Friday afternoon after a suspicious package was found.
“We did a field assessment and determined it is nothing other than some ordinary food based products. Not sure of its exact use. There’s nothing hazardous about it. It did not have any radiological toxilogical, flamable hazards,” HFD Capt. Terry Seelig said.
The HPD bomb squad removed the package and determined it was not a threat.
The road was reopened shortly after 5:30 p.m.
