A man wanted in Alaska was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Hilo.

Thomas Dye, 58, was arrested at the Wailoa Boat Ramp Tuesday morning.

U.S. Marshals say Dye was trying to board a fishing boat at the time.

In 2010, Dye was convicted of defrauding the U.S. Government of $257,000 by falsely claiming for a combat service connected disability.

He was on supervised release when he left Alaska, prompting a warrant for his arrest and U.S. Marshals to go after him.

Dye is now in the process of being extradited back to Alaska.
