In response to the recent number of shark attacks off Maui, researchers with the University of Hawaii are tagging more tiger sharks in the area.

So far this year, scientists and their team have caught and released nine tiger sharks in waters off Maui.

Six of those sharks were tagged with satellite transmitters to track their movements, adding to the eight sharks already being tracked as part of the Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System.
