$1M grant funds UH Manoa bacterial infectious disease research

The University of Hawaii at Manoa has received $1 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study infectious diseases.

The grant covers four years of research that will be led by Tung Hoang, a professor in the department of Microbiology, along with seven graduate students and one postdoctoral researcher.

Over the past four years, the team has brought in this grant plus other NIH-associated funding, totaling $3 million to study bacterial infectious diseases.
