A Pearl Harbor survivor celebrated a big milestone on Friday.
Al Rodrigues turned 94 years young.
Pearl Harbor helped him celebrate his special day with cake, a song, and visitors.
He says his secret to staying young is keeping active.
“I’ve enjoyed life and if i had to do it all over, I’d do the same thing,” Rodrigues said. “It was special. I got very emotional and I’m glad I’m wearing glasses today, so they can’t see the tears coming out of my eyes.”
Rodrigues, a Hawaii resident, was on duty at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese invaded on Dec. 7, 1941.
