Dozens of classes at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus were either cancelled or moved on Friday due to a power outage.
Two science buildings, Bilger Hall and Bilger Annex, remain in the dark after an electrical outage cut power to eight buildings Thursday afternoon.
Thursday night, engineers restored power to all but two of them.
“What our team will be doing is assessing the depth of the condition and how far they need to go with either repairing, gutting, or completely repairing this equipment,” said Stephen Meder of the Planning & Facilities Department.
Phone services were also knocked out for part of the campus.
Generators were on hand to keep vital experiments and essential electronic equipment running.
UH officials expect power and phone service to be restored by Monday.
