E-cigarette hearing scheduled at state Capitol

The Hawaii State Legislature will hear public testimony on a proposed bill that would ban the sale of all electronic cigarette liquids and cartridges.

So far this session, Hawaii lawmakers have advanced bills that could heavily tax electronic smoking devices in the state.

People who sell the devices say it helps people stop smoking cigarettes and that high taxes could put them out of business.

The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the State Capitol.
