Diamond Head Road was reopened Tuesday night after part of a retaining wall came crashing down.
City crews left the area at about 9 p.m., after hauling away five truck loads of debris that fell onto the road. The debris included concrete from the retaining wall along with dirt and rocks.
The wall came down at about 2 p.m.
Officials say no one was injured and no cars were damaged.
The incident happened in the area across from Makalei Beach Park.
“I think the hillside will be ok overnight. It’ll be up to the property owner to secure the property tomorrow or as soon as possible,” said John Nigro with the city’s Department of Facility Maintenance.
The property owner is away on a trip. The property manager has been trying to get a hold of her.
