A 39-year-old Waianae man is facing forgery and theft charges after police say he cashed several counterfeit checks at local banks.
Turhan Toby Lapinig is accused of cashing checks drawn on a company’s payroll account.
According to police, the crimes happened over a three-day span last November.
An investigation led to Lapinig who was arrested Wednesday at a home in Waianae.
He has yet to be charged.
