Big Island hunter airlifted out of forest

Rescue crews airlifted a hunter to safety Friday morning after he got lost in a forest in Pahoa.

Officials say he separated from his hunting partner at around 10 a.m. Thursday and spent more than 24 hours in the forest before a chopper spotted him.

He was transported to Hilo Medical Center for evaluation.
