Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell is spending the weekend preparing for the State of the City address on Wednesday.
“People expect core services to be provided and this administration in the past year has done exactly that,” Caldwell said. “We’re going to talk about it and explain further. You’ll have to wait until then. We’re going to talk about our budget, which is going to be coming forward, this coming next Friday.”
According to the mayor, the city was $155 million in the red six months ago, but has been closing the gap since then.
The State of the City address takes place Wednesday morning at McCoy Pavilion.
