Pahoa home engulfed in flames, cause under investigation

Fire investigators on the Big Island are looking into what caused a Pahoa home to go up in flames Sunday night.

The alarm came in just after 8 p.m. at an unoccupied, 1,200-square-foot home in Nanawale Estates. The single-story structure collapsed as crews were battling the fire.

Damage was reported at $140,000.
