Hawaiian Airlines has announced it will suspend daily service to Fukuoka, Japan this summer.
“Despite two years of effort, we have not seen sufficient passenger growth to justify continuing this service,” said Hawaiian Airlines president and CEO Mark Dunkerley.
Flight 453 will make its final trip from Honolulu to Fukuoka on June 29. Flight 454 will make its final return from Fukuoka to Honolulu on June 30. Passengers with reservations to fly after June 30 will be re-accommodated. The airline’s reservations department will be contacting affected passengers in the next several weeks.
Hawaiian Airlines will continue to accept reservations for travel to and from Fukuoka prior to June 30.
The service was launched on April 16, 2012.
Hawaiian Airlines will still continue to provide daily service to Tokyo and Osaka, and fly three times a week to Sendai and Sapporo.
