Man accused of car break-in, police chase to appear in court

A man accused of breaking into a car at Waimea Bay is expected in court Wednesday.

According to police, Jordan Topinio, 24, was one of two men accused of breaking into a car at Waimea Bay then leading police on a chase.

Police say they crashed into three police cars and nearly hit several police officers before driving away.

Officers followed the SUV down Kamehameha Highway, to Papailoa Road.

The other suspect, Moani Thomas was arrested but Topinio took off and was eventually caught.

Topinio entered a no contest plea for breaking into the car.

He’s expected to be sentenced in District Court.
