Gov. Abercrombie releases funds for airport improvements

There will be millions of dollars going towards improving Hawaii’s airports.

Governor Neil Abercrombie released more than $96 million for the work on Monday.

About $50 million will go towards paving Taxiway Z at Honolulu International Airport.

About $35 million will be spent to build a new terminal at the Diamond Head concourse.

At Kahului airport, work to repair the restrooms will get a $4 million boost, and nearly $4 million will be used to replace the airport’s fire sprinklers.
