Several street closures will be in effect Tuesday night for Mardi Gras Carnaval, a free street festival that includes three outdoor stages and a parade, presented by Arts District Merchant Association. More than 7,500 people are expected to attend.
The event is scheduled from 6-10 p.m. although organizers say the closures will be in effect through midnight for cleanup. A parade will take place down Nuuanu Ave. at 9 p.m.
The following streets will be affected:
- Nuuanu Ave. from Chaplain Ln. to King St.
- Pauahi St. from Smith to Bethel sts.
- Hotel St. from Smith to Bethel sts.
- Smith St. from Hotel to Pauahi sts.
