Siren maintenance planned on Kauai this week

State Civil Defense will be conducting siren maintenance testing on Kauai from Wednesday to Friday.

Technicians will be troubleshooting work associated with recent conversions to satellite/cellular activation mechanisms. Residents may hear the sirens sound for 30 seconds at the following locations and timeframes:

Wednesday, March 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Anini Pavilion
  • Kealia
  • Waipouli-Waiakea Canal
  • Wailua Homesteads Park
  • Wailua Sewage Treatment Plant/Lydgate Park

Thursday, March 6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Poipu Beach Park
  • Kukuiula Harbor
  • Eleele School
  • Port Allen Pier
  • Kaumakani
  • Waimea Canyon Drive
  • Kekaha Chinese Cemetery
  • Kekaha Gardens

Friday, March 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
