Residents on Wheeler Army Airfield and the surrounding community can expect an increase in noise Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m, due to the scheduled landing of a military transport aircraft.

The Air Force C-17 Globemaster III is landing on Wheeler to support rapid deployment preparedness for units in the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade. Soldiers will train on the unique procedures of folding and loading UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters into the cargo aircraft.

The training is contingent on weather that could impact visibility or safe runway conditions.

To report concerns related to noise or training, please call the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii (USAG-HI) Noise Concern Line at 656-3487.
