The Honolulu Police Department issued a statement that California Avenue between Iliwai Drive and Uuku Street was re-open around 1:00 p.m.

Crews were cleaning up in Wahiawa where a tree and utility pole fell earlier on Friday.

Hawaiian Electric Company says the tree damaged power lines, knocking out power initially to 2,370 homes and businesses in the area.

Power has been restored to all except about 30 customers.

There’s no word yet what caused the tree and the pole to come down but it has been a wet and in some areas windy day.
