CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department have released a possible description of the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Waimalu early Saturday morning.

Police say the suspect vehicle is possibly a 1993 through 1995 Ford Ranger or Explorer with damage to the right front headlight assembly.

On March 8, at 12:24 a.m., police say a man attempted to cross Kamehameha Hwy. at Hekaha St. when he was struck by an unknown driver who fled the scene. Investigators say it’s likely the driver was speeding, but do not know if alcohol or drugs were factors.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say he was not in a crosswalk.
