Gov. Neil Abercrombie has received the endorsement of the University of Hawaii Professional Assembly. UHPA is the faculty union for the University of Hawaii System, representing 4,000 members across 10 campuses statewide.

“Gov. Abercrombie has always supported education,” said David Duffy, UHPA president. “He has been in our shoes so he understands our issues. He’s gotten us through the recent rough times and we know he’ll continue to lay the educational foundation for Hawaii’s future generations to prosper.”

“This endorsement means a lot to me,” said Gov. Abercrombie. “I began my career as an educator with the UH system, my alma mater. I’ve always supported the University, its programs, students and its faculty. They are key to Hawaii’s future.”
