M3.5 earthquake shakes northwest Hawaii Island, NO tsunami

The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory recorded a magnitude 3.5 earthquake 4.7 miles off of Kawaihae.

There was NO tsunami generated.

The minor earthquake occurred on at 1:25 p.m. and the data has been reviewed by a seismic analyst.
