Costco recalls fruit snacks after possible Salmonella contamination


Costco has recalled nearly 60,000 cases of Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit after determining the product has the potential contamination with Salmonella.

The freeze dried fruit was sold in Hawaii and has the following label information:

  • Product Name: Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit
  • ITEM: 527069
  • Best By Date: February 14, 2015-March 11, 2015

So far there are no confirmed cases of salmonella poisoning from consumption of this product.

The affected product was removed from Costco floors.

Consumers who may have purchased the product were contacted by phone and U.S. mail.

A letter from the manufacturer, Oregon Freeze Dry, Inc., regarding the voluntary recall was posted on the Costco website.
