Police have reopened the right lane of Pali Hwy. in the west-bound direction Monday.
The lane was previously shut down after a large tree fell just before 5:30 a.m., blocking the road near Waokanaka St.
According to the state Dept. of Transportation, crews cleared the fallen Ironwood tree between 10:30 and 11 a.m., then removed several other damaged trees and debris from the hillside that appeared ready to fall toward the highway. Work was completed at around 3 p.m.
Officials say it’s likely strong wind toppled the tree.
More work will be scheduled in the coming days to remove large tree trunks from along the highway.
