Maui police search for suspects in Kihei beating

Maui police has opened an attempted murder case after a man was found badly beaten in Kihei.

On Saturday, March 15, at about 9:40 p.m., a Kihei patrol officer was flagged down by Kalama Park. He was told there was a fight going on in the park and a man was very badly beaten and in need of assistance. Police say the officer found the victim, a 44-year-old male, alone near a pavilion by the skate rink, laying unconscious on the ground and suffering from multiple injuries. He was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the individual or individuals behind the beating.
