The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU), Local 142, is endorsing Gov. Neil Abercrombie for a second term.

“Gov. Abercrombie is the clear choice,” said Donna Domingo, ILWU president. “He’s always stood on the side of workers. He also understands the critical role ILWU plays in many of Hawaii’s most important industries including tourism, agriculture and shipping. Hawaii’s future is in good hands with his leadership.”

The ILWU, which represents nearly 18,000 members throughout the islands, cites Gov. Abercrombie’s ability to reduce unemployment and create a strong foundation to advance education, improve benefits and services for seniors, and expand stewardship of the environment.
